More urbanization is planned near Chamblee’s MARTA station.

Parkside Development Group LLC, an affiliate of Easlan Capital of Atlanta Inc., is planning a nearly 3-acre project at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Malone Drive. The project, called The Malone on Peachtree, would include 189 upscale multifamily units, along with ground-level retail and office space.

“The property is an easy walk to the Chamblee MARTA station, Walmart and a proposed Whole Foods,” said Lenny Meltz of Easlan Capital. The project is set to go before City Council for final approval on Feb. 16. If approved, construction could start in late spring, with a targeted opening in spring 2018, said Meltz.

More developers are seeing Chamblee as a prime location for new mixed-use projects between glitzy Buckhead and the busy office market of central Perimeter.
As more people continue to move closer to Atlanta’s core and development sites become scarce in Buckhead, developers have focused more attention on cities along Peachtree, including Chamblee, Brookhaven and Doraville.

A host of projects now are in the works around Chamblee’s MARTA station.
Pattillo Industrial Real Estate is moving its headquarters across from MARTA in a joint venture with Parkside Partners Inc. The project called Trackside features two phases with a total of 80,000 square feet, including Pattillo’s office building and retail and restaurant space.

Developer S.J. Collins Enterprises is underway on an 11-acre retail project called Peachtree Crossing that’s anchored by a 45,000-square-foot Whole Foods Marketplace. It’s taking shape on the former Oxford Chemical site near MARTA. It could open by first-quarter 2017.

A development team led by Atlanta-based Cocke Finkelstein Inc. is planning a nearly $45 million mixed-use project on six acres along Peachtree Boulevard and Chamblee Tucker Road, next to the MARTA station. The project includes new restaurants and townhomes.

Connolly Investment & Development, affiliate Spruce Street Partners, and residential developer Terwilliger Pappas are underway on a new mixed-use project called Parkview on Peachtree with hundreds of apartments over street-level retail and restaurants. The site once housed the former Great Gatsby’s Antiques and Auctions.
